@OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse scores early at Kean

Old Westbury continues play on the road with Friday’s matchup at Bridgewater (Va.)

UNION, NJ --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com)  SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse battled early before falling 17-1 to the Kean Cougars Tuesday afternoon in non-conference road action from Alumni Stadium.

Kean (6-0) jumped out to a 1-0 lead 1:53 into play off Samantha Gnapp's first of three goals on the day.  Danielle Weir answered 24 seconds later for the Panthers (1-3) with her seventh goal of the season to tie the game.  Kean responded with a 10-0 run over the final 23:39 of the opening half to take an 11-1 lead into intermission. 

Emily Stasuk opened the second-half scoring with a goal at 27:49 as the Cougars outscored Old Westbury 6-0 in the final stanza. 

Weir and Bey paced Old Westbury with three shots apiece while Taylor Guarneri controlled two draws and Bey added two ground balls. 

Ashley Gugliuzzo (1-3) picked up three ground balls and stopped 11 shots in defeat for Old Westbury. 

Morgan Graham netted a game-high four goals to lead Kean.  Nikki Apostolopoulos (6-0) made six saves to earn the Cougars' win.  
 
BRIDGEWATER (VA.) EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action Friday (Mar. 25) on the road for a non-conference battle against the Bridgewater Eagles at 12 p.m. from Jopson Field in Bridgewater, Virginia.
