PURCHASE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury baseball (21-12, 9-3 Skyline) collected 6-3 and 5-1 Skyline Conference road wins Friday to sweep the Purchase Panthers (11-21, 6-7 Skyline) for their eighth-straight 20-win season.

Game 1: Old Westbury 6, Purchase 3
Jesse Russo (1-for-3, 2 R, RBI, BB, SB) worked a leadoff walk from Purchase starter Lukas Chin (4-2, 3 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 2 BB) and scored three batters later on a wild pitch for the game's initial run.

Purchase tied the game in the bottom of the first with Nick Kulbaba's (2-for-3) RBI single off Old Westbury starter Tyler Kapela (4-1, 5.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 3 K).

Paul Rapoli (3-for-4, 2 RBI) singled to drive in two runs to cap Old Westbury's four-run third inning. Tommy Ziegen opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly followed by Dean Sheridan's (3-for-4, RBI, R) RBI single for Old Westbury's 5-1 lead.

Purchase chopped Old Westbury's lead to two with Mathew Chavez's two-run single in the sixth.

Russo doubled Old Westbury's advantage in the ninth with a sacrifice fly to score Michael Cardino for the 6-3 final.

Nick Dorcean fanned five and scattered two hits in 3.2 innings of relief to lock down his second save of the season.

Game 2: Old Westbury 5, Purchase 1
Kevin Lao belted his team-leading fourth home run to drive in two runs off Purchase starter Miguel Reyes (3-3, 7 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 4K) in the second inning for Old Westbury's early lead.

Old Westbury doubled its advantage in the fifth with a run-scoring single by Russo followed by Joey Walsh's RBI double.

Walsh lifted a sacrifice fly in the seventh to extend Old Westbury's lead to five.

Purchase scored its lone run off starter Trey Pizzutello (4-2, 7 IP, 4 H, R, 0 BB, 5 K) in the seventh with Chavez's infield grounder that pushed Brenden LaPorte across home plate.

MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains on the road Sunday (Apr. 24) when they travel to take on the Maritime Privateers in a Skyline Conference doubleheader at 11 a.m. in Throggs Neck, New York.
