Sheridan extends streak in @OW_Panthers Baseball action at No. 4 Ramapo

Dean Sheridan singled to reach base in 21-straight games

MAHWAH, NJĀ ---Ā (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com)Ā SUNY Old Westbury baseball (13-9) lost a 10-0 non-conference road game Wednesday to the No. 4 Ramapo Roadrunners (18-1-1) from Jeff Maund Memorial Field.Ā 

Ramapo jumped on the board
Ā in the first inningĀ with a two-out sacrifice fly by Joe Venturino (2-for-3, RBI, R)Ā off Panther starter Danny D'Onofrio (2-1, 3 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, K) to score Matthew Chemis (0-for-1, 2 R, 2 BB, SB)Ā for what proved to be the game-winning run.

Dean Sheridan (1-for-3) singled to lead off Old Westbury's second inning to extend his streak of reaching base safely to 21-striaght games.

Connor Walsh's two-run singleĀ broke the game open as part of Ramapo's five-run third inning.Ā 

The Panthers collected their second hit off Paul Rapoli's (1-for-3) leadoff single in the fifth.Ā  Ā 

Old Westbury threatened in the sixth with runners in scoring position before Sheridan grounded out to strand Jesse Russo (0-for-2, BB, 2 SB) and Tommy Ziegen on base.Ā 

Tyler Curto (1-0) fanned eight batters and scattered two hits in six innings of shutout ball to record the Roadrunners' win. Ā Ramapo added two-run innings in the sixth and eighth frames for the 10-0 final.Ā Ā
