OLD WESTBURY, NY --- 
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com)  SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse will make its first-ever appearance in the Skyline Conference Championship after producing a 4-3 regular-season mark in league play to seize the fourth seed in the tourney.
 
The Panthers will face the top-seeded St. Joseph's (L.I.) Golden Eagles on Wednesday in their first-ever postseason game at 6 p.m. from St. Joseph's Outdoor Athletic Complex in Patchogue, New York.  Old Westbury turned a few heads to finish one spot higher than a preseason poll of the league's coaches had tabbed them to.

Old Westbury has been led all season by freshman Natasha Treuman (58 goals), sophomore Danielle Weir (37 goals) and junior Sara Bey (29 goals).  Bey and senior Courtney Gallagher direct the offense with 16 assists apiece, followed by Weir's 12 helpers.  

Defensively, Gallagher's 35 caused turnovers rank fourth in the conference while sophomore goalie Ashley Gugliuzzo ranks second with 136 saves.

The Panthers' only three conference losses were to each of the other teams in the postseason tournament.
