Tuckruskye stops 12 shots for @OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer

Jessica Tuckruskye set a career high with 12 saves Saturday versus Staten Island

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer lost a 2-0 non-conference battle to the visiting Staten Island Dolphins (3-0-1) Saturday afternoon from Panther Park.

Old Westbury (0-2-0) tested Staten Island goalie Nicole Mignone with the game's first shots on back-to-back attempts from Edania Martinez in the 13th minute.  Staten Island answered with five-straight shots, with two landing for Jessica Tuckruskye saves.  The Dolphins held an 8-3 advantage in shots in a scoreless opening half. 

Jennifer Cosenza broke a scoreless tie with the game-winning goal in the 54th minute by finishing off a feed from Krystina Rodriguez for the Dolphins' 1-0 lead.  Staten Island then doubled its advantage in the 65th minute as Natalia Sandor assisted on a goal by Krista Anson to settle the 2-0 final.

Tuckruskye (0-1-0) finished with a career-high 12 saves as Mignone (1-0-0) made two saves to secure Staten Island's win. 

Sarah Roslonowski paced Old Westbury with three shots while Martinez followed with two of the Panthers' eight attempts on the day.   Rodriguez led Staten Island with 10 of the team's 27 shots.  

CITY COLLEGE OF NEW YORK BEAVERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home next Wednesday (Sept. 14) to take on the CCNY Beavers in non-conference action at 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
