@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer ties with Sage in Skyline Conference opener

Old Westbury remains at home for Wednesday’s non-conference showdown with Ramapo

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer played their fourth overtime game of the season Saturday to open their Skyline Conference slate with a 1-1 tie at home to The Sage Colleges Gators (1-2-3, 0-0-1) from Panther Park. 
 
Stephen Locurcio broke the scoring ice in the 14th minute with his first career goal after receiving a pass from James Marchena to give the Panthers (1-1-4, 0-0-1) a 1-0 lead.  Old Westbury maintained the lead with an 8-6 edge in shots during the opening 45 minutes.
 
The Gators dialed up the intensity in the second half by registering an 8-5 shot advantage.  River Seybolt delivered the equalizer in the 74th minute to convert a penalty kick past a Panther goalkeeper Mike Warren.
 
In the first overtime period, Sage held the shot advantage (2-1) while smothering defense on both sides produced a shotless final 10 minutes.
 
Warren (1-1-4) stopped nine shots in a complete game effort, while Sage's Caelan Kohut (1-2-3) made four saves in 110 minutes of action.  Sage finished with the advantage in shots (16-14) and shots on goal (10-5), while Old Westbury held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. 

RAMAPO COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home Wednesday (Sept. 21) to take on the Ramapo College Roadrunners at 4 p.m. in non-conference action from Panther Park.
