@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer opens Skyline Conference play with Purchase battle

Old Westbury’s remains on the road for Wednesday’s conference showdown with Farmingdale State

PURCHASE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer (1-3-0, 0-1-0) opened Skyline Conference play Saturday with a 5-3 road setback to the Purchase College Panthers (2-3-0, 2-0-0) in Purchase, New York.

Purchase took an early 2-0 lead with goals by La Fata Tori (5th minute) and Emily Saltman (13th minute).  Melissa Outsen answered by assisting on Sarah Roslonowski's goal in the 17th minute to slice Old Westbury's deficit in half.  Purchase took a 3-1 lead in the 22nd minute with Brett Robinson's strike past Old Westbury goalie Mary Clark.  Roslonowski then returned the favor by finding Outsen in the 33rd minute to make it a 3-2 game before Saltman netted Purchase's fourth goal to take a two-score lead into the half.

Old Westbury broke the second-half scoring ice in the 61st minute with Roslonowski's second-straight two-goal game.  Outsen was credited with the helper for her second-career multi-assist game.  Purchase's Amanda Green closed out the scoring in the 68th minute to settle the 5-3 final.

Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (18-15), while both sides tied in shots on goal (8-8) and corner kicks (6-6).

Clark (1-2-0) finished with three saves in defeat for Old Westbury as Rachel Mizrahi (2-3-0) made five saves to preserve Purchase's win.
