OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer remained unbeaten in the young 2016 season with a 1-1 tie to the visiting New Paltz Hawks (2-0-1) Wednesday afternoon from Panther Park.

New Paltz registered 10 first-half shots as Panther goalie Mike Warren (1-0-2) made six of his season-best 10 saves during the opening 45 minutes of play.

Held to just a pair of shots in the opening half, Old Westbury outshot New Paltz 7-5 in the second half as Adan Velasquez found Dominick Guidice for his second goal of the season in the 75th minute for the Panthers' 1-0 lead.   New Paltz answered 1:15 later with Sam Spring's goal off a feed from Sebastian Gordon Somers-Archer to settle the 1-1 final.

New Paltz fired four shots compared to Old Westbury's two in overtime to finish with a 19-11 advantage in shots.  The Hawks also controlled the corner with a 6-4 edge.   Velasquez paced Old Westbury with three shots while James Marchena followed with two.  Spring put up a game-high six shots and Tucker Stern added four.

Mark Nowak (2-0-1) stopped four shots in goal for New Paltz.
