OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball used a second-half push Tuesday evening to claim a 76-62 Skyline Conference victory over the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons (5-8, 1-3 Skyline) inside Clark Athletic Center.

Austin Jones connected from deep to give Sarah Lawrence the early 8-7 lead 2:26 in.  Old Westbury answered with a 12-0 run sparked by a dunk by Jamail Stanley with 17:09 left to give Old Westbury (6-7, 3-2 Skyline) a 19-8 advantage with 14:25 showing on the first-half clock.  Sarah Lawrence responded with a 29-12 run over the next 12:13 to take a six-point lead (37-31).  Old Westbury trimmed its deficit to one (37-36) heading into intermission courtesy of five-straight points scored by Lylle Ryals to close out the half.

Old Westbury took the lead for good with 19:09 remaining in the second half off a pair of Stanley Baker free-throws.  The Panthers scored seven unanswered points to extend their lead to 13 points (58-45) with 10:01 showing on the second-half clock.  Moments later, Graham Gilleran's 3-pointer capped a 14-5 run to close the Gryphons' gap to four (63-59) with 3:55 left.  Down the stretch, Stanley threw down a dunk with 3:39 remaining to ignite Old Westbury's 13-1 to push the lead to a game-high 16 points before closing out the 76-62 final.

Stanley led all scores with 25 points (11-of-21 FG), and added eight rebounds (five offensive) and three steals to his statline.  Ryals registered career-highs of 24 points (8-of-15 FG, 5-of-11 3FG) and nine rebounds to go with four assists and two steals.  Preston Powell chipped in 12 points (4-of-7 3FG) and tied a career-high with four triples.  Powell and Stephon Odle both contributed two steals

BJ Sanders finished with 13 points (5-of-7 FG), 13 rebounds, five assists and two blocks to pace Sarah Lawrence.  Gilleran and Jeff Jordan (5-of-6 FG) followed with 11 points apiece.
