@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer wraps up road slate at Mount Saint Vincent

Old Westbury returns home for its season finale Monday (Oct. 22) versus Purchase College

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer closed out their road schedule Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 Skyline Conference setback against the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (7-7-0, 6-2-0 Skyline) from Athletic Field at Marillac in Riverdale, New York.

Nicole Weber broke the scoring ice 1:24 into the game to register the game-winning goal past Panther goalie Alexa Higgins (1-12-1).  Julia McGowan scored twice in the first half to give Mount Saint Vincent a 4-0 lead at intermission before finding the back of the net in the 64th minute to register her hat trick.    

Cara Normille took the Panthers' first shot of the game in the 30th minute.  Shauna Henderson captained the Panther offense with two shots including one shot on goal that was stopped in the 51st minute by Mount Saint Vincent goalie Elizabeth Martin (6-5-0). The save paved the way for Martin's third shutout of the season.      

Higgins made seven first-half saves before Mary Clark stopped seven shots in the second stanza.

The Dolphins held the advantage in shots (43-4), shots on goal (21-1) and corner kicks (5-0).     

PURCHASE COLLEGE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury (2-13-1, 1-6-1 Skyline) returns home Monday (Oct. 22) to close out its season with a Skyline Conference showdown versus the Purchase College Panthers (6-9-0, 4-4-0 Skyline) at 3p.m. from Panther Park.
