BROOKLYN --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball opened strong before dropping the next three sets to fall in four sets (17-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19) to the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (4-5, 1-1 Skyline) Wednesday evening in Skyline Conference road action from The Hill Center in Brooklyn.

Old Westbury (9-6, 1-2 Skyline) came out swinging to produce 10 kills on 40 attempts to hit .125 while serving five aces in the opening set. St. Joseph's turned the tables in sets 2-4 to finish the match hitting .106 compared to Old Westbury's .018.

Kyraleigh Zinnel combined 16 assists with 13 digs to produce her fourth double-double of the season in leading Old Westbury. Jazmine Ortiz served three of the team's 10 aces on the day while Zinnel and Nikia Gardon both followed with two. Marie McKenzie nailed down seven kills as Gardon and Grieshaber each had five. Sofia Goris contributed 14 digs to lead the defense.

Tiffany Garcia-Lawson paced St. Joseph's with 17 kills and six aces while Paige Csikortos' 32 assists captained the offense. Csikortos and Briana Marrazzo both chipped in with 14 digs to lead the defense charge

MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE KNIGHTS AND COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury continues Skyline Conference road play Sunday (Oct. 8) against the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (6-15, 0-2 Skyline) at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. matchup with the host College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (10-7, 3-0 Skyline) from Peter Jay Sharp Center in Riverdale, New York.
