BRONXVILLE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball held a double-digit lead for the final 35:55 to claim a 114-28 Skyline Conference opening road win over the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons (1-1, 0-1 Skyline) Tuesday evening inside Campbell Sports Center in Bronxville, New York.  With the win, Old Westbury (3-0, 1-0 Skyline) scored its most points since a 107-point performance in a 107-36 victory versus Marymount College (N.Y.) on January 23, 2002.  The Panthers also posted their largest margin of victory (86 points) since defeating College of New Rochelle by 82 (104-22) on November 21, 2009.

Monique Joseph's layup broke the scoring ice five seconds in as part of Old Westbury's 11-0 run to start the game.  After Ruth Doberenz put Sarah Lawrence on the board, Charlotte Renker finished a feed from Bridgid McNeill to make it a 13-2 contest as Old Westbury would play with a double-digit lead for the game's final 35:55.  With a 29-7 lead at the end of one quarter of play, Old Westbury extended its cushion to 32 points (50-12) as Davida Warren's dropped in a layup with 1:14 remaining to close out the first-half scoring.

Old Westbury outscored Sarah Lawrence 37-3 in the third period while Alessia Drevnyak 's layup with 1:22 showing on the fourth-quarter clock pushed Old Westbury's lead to a game-high 87 points (114-27).

Joseph produced her first-career triple-double with career highs of 19 points (9-of-12 FG) and 11 steals to go along with 10 rebounds and seven assists to pace Old Westbury.  Renker followed with 18 points (9-of-12 FG) while Warren went for 14 (6-of-8 FG).  Destiny Marino contributed 12 points (6-of-8 FG), seven assists and seven steals.  McNeill pulled down nine rebounds (five offensive) and scored 12 points as Drevnyak added 12 off the bench.

Tess Carrier scored nine points to lead Sarah Lawrence.

In the end, Old Westbury connected on 63.5 percent (54-of-85) from the field, 28.6 percent (2-of-7) from 3-point range and 36.4 percent (4-of-11) from the free-throw line.  By comparison, Sarah Lawrence hit on 23.1 percent (9-of-39) from the floor, 11.1 percent (1-of-9) from beyond the arc and 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the charity stripe.  Old Westbury won the boards battle, 54-11, while scoring 34 second-chance points off 27 offensive rebounds. The Panthers held the advantage in assists (30-5), steals (30-9) and bench points (47-0) while Sarah Lawrence swatted two shots to Old Westbury's one.  Old Westbury scored 58 points off 54 Gryphon turnovers.
