OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball extended their head-to-head winning streak to 15 games versus the Maritime College Privateers (3-3, 1-2 Skyline) Thursday evening with a 76-66 Skyline Conference home win inside Clark Athletic Center.

Maritime jumped out to the early lead with two of Patrick MacDonald's 10 first-half points for the Privateers' 2-0 advantage 1:08 in.  Both teams traded 6-0 runs followed by Maritime building its lead to five (17-12) off a Brendan McGovern layup with 13:34 left.  Stanley Baker poured in back-to-back baskets to ignite a 6-0 Panther spurt to take a brief 18-17 advantage.  McGovern drained back-to-back triples as part of Maritime's 8-0 run to make it a 25-18 game with 10:53 showing on the first-half clock.  Moments later, Isaiah Hayes' layup helped the Privateers extend their lead to a first-half high eight points (29-21) at 9:49.  Preston Powell's layup with 2:32 remaining sliced Old Westbury's deficit to one to send a 32-31 game into intermission.

Following a series of lead changes to open the second half, Maritime used an 8-0 run to take a 44-40 advantage.  Old Westbury answered with seven-straight points to grab a 47-44 lead capped by Terrin Roland's three-pointer with 12:36 left.  The Panthers played with the lead for the final 12:36 as Powell converted a pair of free throws with 1:08 remaining to extend Old Westbury's lead to a game-high 10 points (74-64).

Powell finished with a game-high 21 points (7-of-12 FG, 5-of-7 3FG) to go along with four assists in leading Old Westbury to victory.  Baker followed with a career-best 16 points (8-of-12 FG) in addition to pulling down eight rebounds.  Roland chipped in 10 points, five assists and two steals while Alan McDonald added 10 points (4-of-9 FG) and eight rebounds.
