RIVERDALE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball extended its winning streak to 11 after claiming a 61-53 Skyline Conference road win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (6-16, 4-9 Skyline) Tuesday evening inside Peter Jay Sharp Center.

Lylle Ryals connected from deep to give Old Westbury (16-7, 12-2 Skyline) the early 9-7 lead with 13:48 remaining in the first half. Jesse Regina responded with a 3-pointer of his own to spark Mount Saint Vincent's 16-8 run from 13:20 to 6:52 to grab a 23-17 lead. Jamail Stanley dropped in two of his nine points to ignite Old Westbury's 11-4 run over the final 5:21 to take a 28-27 advantage into the break.

Old Westbury used a 9-0 run after Ryals' lay-in to push its lead to seven (37-30) with 16:18 remaining in the second half. Mount Saint Vincent responded with a 14-3 run as Andrew Curiel's layup helped the Dolphins to a 44-40 advantage with 6:57 left. Old Westbury then put together an 11-0 run from 6:43 to 4:24 kickstarted by Terrin Roland's layup to retake the lead for good (51-44). Myron Hickman's dropped-in two points for the Dolphins to trim the deficit to three, 56-53, with 42 seconds remaining. Old Westbury scored five points from the free-throw line to extend the lead to a game-high eight points to settled the 61-53 final.

Preston Powell finished with 14 points (4-of-8 3FG) and one steal to lead Old Westbury. Ryals followed with 10 points, six rebounds and three steals. Stanley grabbed a game-leading and career-high 19 rebounds (tied career-high nine offensive) to go with two blocks and two steals.

Hickman led all scores with 15 points and three steals for Mount Saint Vincent.

In the end, Old Westbury connected on 36.5 percent (19-of-52) from the field, 33.3 percent (8-of-24) from 3-point range and 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from the free-throw line. By comparison, Mount Saint Vincent hit on 40 percent (20-of-50) from the floor, 34.6 percent (9-of-26) from beyond the arc and 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from the charity stripe. Old Westbury won the boards battle, 44-27, scoring 19 second-chance points off 17 offensive rebounds. Both teams drew even in blocks (2-2) and assists (12-12) while the Dolphins held the advantage in steals (11-10). The Panthers scored 13 points off 15 Dolphin turnovers.
