OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball used a strong second-half push to extend their win streak to nine with Tuesday's 94-81 Skyline Conference Play4Kay victory against the visiting Yeshiva University Maccabees (12-8, 8-4 Skyline) inside Clark Athletic Center.

Old Westbury (14-7, 10-2 Skyline) jumped ahead early with a layup by Jamail Stanley 39 seconds in for the 2-0 lead.  Both teams combined for five first-half lead changes as Michael Berg's jumper gave Yeshiva the lead (11-9) for the final 15:02.  Stanley later joined the 1,000-point club at 10:30 with a layup to slice Old Westbury's deficit to eight (20-12).  Yeshiva's advantage twice grew to 13 before Old Westbury  used a 9-2 run over the final 2:30 to head into the break trailing 44-38.

Old Westbury put together a 17-5 run from 17:55 to 13:05 after Stanley Baker's pair of free-throws helped regain a brief lead (55-51).  Yeshiva responded with a 13-3 run with a lay-in by Berg to retake the lead (64-58) with 10:22 remaining in the second half.  The Maccabees held a seven-point cushion with 8:32 left before Stanley's free-throw sparked a 22-4 run from 8:17 to 4:02 to give the Panthers the lead for good, 85-74.  Old Westbury continued its strong play over the remaining 3:14 to push the advantage to a game-high 14 points with 26 seconds left before settling the 94-81 final.

Stanley finished with 24 points (7-of-12 FG, 10-of-13 FT) and tied a career-high with a game-leading 17 rebounds (tied career-high nine offensive) while totaling three assists and two blocks to record his 15th double-double of the season (28th career).  Lylle Ryals followed with 17 points (6-of-12 FG, 3-of-7 3FG) and seven rebounds.  Preston Powell contributed 15 points (3-of-7 3FG, 6-of-6 FT) while Bradley Eugene (5-of-5 FG) and Stephon Odle (4-of-7 FG) poured in 10 points apiece.

In the end, Old Westbury connected on 45.6 percent (31-of-68) from the field,  38.9 percent (7-of-18) from 3-point range and 73.5 percent (25-of-34) from the free-throw line.  By comparison, Yeshiva hit on 46.4 percent (32-of-69) from the floor, 37.5 percent (12-of-32) from beyond the arc and 50 percent (5-of-10) from the charity stripe.  Old Westbury won the boards battle, 52-29, scoring 24 second-chance points off 19 offensive rebounds.  Yeshiva held the advantage in assists (19-14) while the Panthers held the edge in blocks (5-1).  Both teams nabbed three steals as Old Westbury scored 10 points off 10 Maccabee turnovers.
