HILTON HEAD, SC --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse opened play Monday morning at the Hilton Head Lacrosse in Hilton Head, South Carolina with an 18-8 setback to the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors (3-1).

Trailing 2-0, Danielle Weir put Old Westbury (0-3) on the board with her first goal of the season with 23:24 left. Sara Bey then scored Old Westbury's second and third goals assisted by Natasha Treuman and Halle Johnson to make it a 9-3 game. Eastern Connecticut State secured the win with a pair of 3-0 runs in the opening half to take an 11-3 lead into intermission.

Old Westbury opened the second-half scoring 1:21 in as Johnson found Weir to slice the deficit to seven (11-4). Treuman would later score four goals in the final 13:42 to register her 12th-career hat trick.

Ashley Gugliuzzo (0-3) made 12 saves in defeat for Old Westbury.

ALBRIGHT COLLEGE LIONS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury concludes play in Hilton Head, South Carolina Wednesday (Mar. 15) at 9 a.m. with a non-conference showdown against the Albright College Lions (3-2).
