OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse opened their home schedule Saturday afternoon with a 20-4 non-conference setback to the Kean University Cougars (1-0) from Panther Park.

Natasha Treuman broke the scoring ice 33 seconds in with her fifth goal of the season to give Old Westbury (0-2) the early 1-0 advantage. Danni LeSaint responded 1:30 later with Kean's equalizer before Morgan Graham put the Cougars up for good with her first of three goals as part of Kean's 9-0 run. Included in the run was Emily Stasuk's game-winning goal assisted by Graham with 19:23 left that gave Kean a 5-1 lead. Taylor Guarneri finished a feed from Imani Blake with 5:25 showing on the first-half clock to end Kean's run with her first goal of the season. Kean put away the next four goals in the final 4:20 to take a 13-2 advantage into the break.

Stasuk opened the second-half scoring 2:32 in to push the lead to 12 (14-2). Moments later, Guarneri totaled her 10th-career multi-goal game off Halle Johnson's assist with 24:39 remaining to slice the deficit to 11 (14-3). The Cougars scored three-straight goals to extend the lead to 17-3 before Sara Bey found the back of the net with 11:26 left for her third goal of the season to close out the Panthers' scoring. Kean tacked on three more tallies over the final 10 minutes to settle the 20-4 final with a game-high 16 goal lead.

Danielle Weir paced Old Westbury with five draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Treuman chipped in with two draw controls while Bey, Jessica Tuckruskye and Rachel Phillips each controlled one. Edania Martinez added two caused turnovers. Ashley Gugliuzzo (0-2) made four saves in defeat for Old Westbury.

Graham finished with game highs of five goals on six attempts and five assists to lead Kean. Stasuk and LeSaint each controlled six draws. Stasuk also contributed four goals on five shots and two shots to her statline. LaSaint, Taylor Hynes and Krista LaMaina each netted two goals while Hynes dished out four assists. Nikki Apostolopoulo (1-0) stopped two shots in just over 41 minutes of action to secure Kean's win.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY WARRIORS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels to Hilton Head, South Carolina for two games starting with a non-conference battle on Monday (Mar. 13) against the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors at 9 a.m.
