OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball opened Skyline Conference play Sunday at home with a 3-1 (25-22, 10-25, 16-25, 16-25) loss to the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons (1-3, 1-0 Skyline) before taking down the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-4, 0-3 Skyline) in four sets (17-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-7) inside Clark Athletic Center.

In the opener versus Sarah Lawrence, Old Westbury (4-1, 1-1 Skyline) hit .200 to claim victory in the first set. Sarah Lawrence answered by hitting .364 in the second set and finished the match hitting .165 compared to Old Westbury's .031. Sarah Lawrence also held the advantage in aces (14-5) while Old Westbury claimed a 7-1 edge in blocks.

Kristin Grieshaber totaled 14 digs (career-high) and 13 assists to post her first-career double-double for Old Westbury. Marie McKenzie registered five kills and two blocks while Sidasia Johnson added five kills and 1.5 blocks. Jazmine Ortiz contributed three block assists and four kills.

Francesca LaRocca and Lucy DeCarlo paced Sarah Lawrence with 13 kills apiece as Lauren Kilroy's 32 assists captained the offense. Francesca Kohani served five aces and scooped 29 digs.

Against Yeshiva, the Panthers dropped the opening set after hitting -.120. Old Westbury rebounded by hitting .152, .263 and .407 in the following three sets to finish with a .187 attacking percentage for the match as Yeshiva combined to hit -.061. Old Westbury also held the advantage in aces (15-6) and blocks (6-2).

Grieshaber led Old Westbury to victory with 36 assists (career-high), 14 digs and three aces. Johnson nailed down a career-best 10 kills on 19 swings to hit .421. Shanayia Lloyd, who served 14-straight points as part of Old Westbury's 15-0 run to close out the fourth set, finished with career highs of five aces and 10 kills (.474 attacking percentage). Ortiz also set a career high with nine kills. McKenzie chipped in with four aces and six kills as Danielle Corsi compiled five kills. Sofia Goris scooped a career-best 17 digs.

The Maccabees were paced by Gavriela's seven kills. Dalia Sieger added 23 digs while Yael Ghelman dished out 13 assists.
