OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball played host Friday afternoon to the Purchase College Panthers (0-10) and Cedar Crest College Falcons (9-3) in non-conference action from Clark Athletic Center. Old Westbury (8-5) opened with a three-set sweep (25-9, 25-18, 25-21) to Purchase before falling to Cedar Crest in five sets (25-18, 25-19, 16-25, 15-25, 14-16).

Old Westbury dominated play against Purchase by hitting .182 compared to Purchase's .023. Old Westbury also held the edge in aces (11-6), assists (24-18) and digs (40-32).

Kristin Grieshaber's third-career double-double led the way for Old Westbury after compiling 13 digs, 11 assists and six kills to hit .500. Jazmine Ortiz tied a career high with nine kills to hit .467 as Sidasia Johnson followed with six kills, five aces, one solo block and one block assist.

Maura Gribbins' 10 kills (game-high) and three aces paced Purchase. Alex Lally added 16 assists and two block assists.

Against Cedar Crest, Old Westbury hit .294 with 13 kills on 24 attempts in the opening set before attacking at a .200 clip in the fifth set. The Panthers won the battle of the digs (95-85), while the Falcons held the advantage in aces (14-6), blocks (6-4) and assists (38-33).

Grieshaber's double-double of career-high 16 digs and 13 assists paced Old Westbury. Kyraleigh Zinnel followed with 14 assists and career-high 10 kills to register her first-career double-double. Johnson chipped in with nine kills. Sofia Goris led the Panther defense with 25 digs while Ortiz and Nikia Gardon set career highs with 18 and 12 digs, respectively.

Nicole Hill had a match-high 13 kills while Molly Schnaubelt contributed 11 kills and five digs in leading Cedar Crest to victory. Steph Barr followed with a game-high 21 assists and added 16 digs to her statline. Tiffany Hopps scooped up a game-high 33 digs while Devyn Crowder and Kailey Elrod followed with 17 and 14 digs, respectively.

BARUCH COLLEGE BEARCATS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home Tuesday (Oct. 3) for a non-conference showdown with the Baruch College Bearcats at 6 PM inside Clark Athletic Center.
