@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer scores early in Skyline draw at Purchase

Old Westbury remains on the road Tuesday (Oct.3) for a Skyline Conference tilt versus St. Joseph’s College (L.I.)

PURCHASE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer settled for a 1-1 Skyline Conference tie on the road with the Purchase College Panthers (5-5-1, 2-0-1 Skyline) after 110 minutes of action Saturday afternoon from Purchase College Field in Purchase, New York.

Jorey Garcia tied the team lead with his fourth goal of the season by finishing a feed from Alexander Routledge in the 19th minute to give Old Westbury (4-2-2, 1-0-1 Skyline) the 1-0 lead.  Moments later, Purchase settled the 1-1 final as Rob Cal completed a run from Yianni Amvrosiatos in the 29th minute.

Old Westbury netminder Mike Warren (4-2-2) made four saves in 110 minutes as Jordan Meade (3-2-1) stopped nine shots in a complete-game effort for Purchase.

In the end, Old Westbury dominated play in shots (28-12) and shots on goal (10-5) while Purchase held the 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.

ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE (L.I.) GOLDEN EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains on the road Tuesday (Oct. 3) for a Skyline Conference showdown versus the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (2-5-1, 2-0-1 Skyline) at 7 p.m. from Danzi Stadium in Patchogue, New York.
