@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer battles Farmingdale State in Skyline matchup

Old Westbury travels for Skyline Conference action Tuesday (Oct. 3) at St. Joseph’s College (L.I.)

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer dropped a 7-0 decision Saturday afternoon to the Farmingdale State College Rams (4-4-2, 2-0-0 Skyline) in Skyline Conference action from Panther Park.

Miranda Ozimek broke the scoring ice in the 21st minute to give Farmingdale State the early 1-0 lead.  Taylor Howard buried a penalty kick goal in the 23rd minute past Panther goalie Alexa Higgins (1-7-0) to double the Rams advantage, 2-0.  Cristina Ferrara then finished Elizabeth Dasilva's feed in the 37th minute for Farmingdale State to send the 3-0 game into intermission.

Farmingdale State continued to apply pressure as Tara Lyons opens the second half scoring with a goal in the 50th minute. The Rams scored in the 61st (Ferrara), 82nd (Aracely Romero) and 83rd minutes (Jackie Haft) to settle the 7-0 final.

Higgins stopped seven shots in defeat for Old Westbury as Daniella Ford (4-4-2) and Laura Leverich secured the combined shutout win for Farmingdale State.

In the end, Farmingdale State held the advantage in shots (33-0), shots on goal (14-0) and corner kicks (7-0).

GOLDEN EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury (2-8-0, 1-2-0 Skyline) returns to the road Tuesday (Oct. 3) for a Skyline Conference showdown versus the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (5-4-0, 2-0-0 Skyline) at 4 p.m. from Danzi Stadium in Patchogue, New York.
