Old Westbury hits the road Saturday (Oct. 20) for a Skyline Conference showdown against Mount Saint Mary College

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer claimed a 4-1 Skyline Conference victory Tuesday afternoon over the visiting College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (4-7-1, 3-3-0 Skyline) in the home finale from Panther Park. Old Westbury (4-11-1, 2-4-1 Skyline) is now 9-3-0 against the Dolphins since 2008.

After a scoreless first half, Brianna Williams finished Cara Normile's feed in the 47th minute to give Old Westbury the 1-0 lead.  WIlliams returned the favor with a pass to the top of the box for Normile to put one past Dolphin goalie Meaghan Cleary (4-6-1) in the 54th minute for the game-winning goal.  Normile scored her third goal of the season in the 72nd minute to extend Old Westbury's lead to three (3-0).

Mount Saint Vincent broke into the scoring column as Cristina Britton buried a free kick in the 78th minute past Panther goalie Alexa Higgins (4-11-1) to make it a 3-1 game.  Williams scored her eighth goal of the season off Celeste Henriquez's assist in the 82nd minute to settle the 4-1 final.

Higgins made six saves on the day as Cleary stopped three shots.

The Panthers finished with the advantage in shots (12-11) as the Dolphins led the way in corner kicks (4-3).  Both teams were even in landing seven shots on target.
