OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury volleyball women's volleyball dropped a five-set (19-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-12) Skyline Conference battle at home Wednesday evening to the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (5-6, 1-1 Skyline) inside Clark Athletic Center. The Bears now hold a 4-0 mark against the Panthers since joining the conference in 2015.

The Panthers fired away at a match-leading .346 clip in the third set before finishing with a .109 hitting percentage. St. Joseph's finished the match hitting .058 and outserved the Panthers 13-6 while Old Westbury held the advantage in kills (48-43), blocks (4-3) and assists (45-40). Both teams drew even at 94 digs.

Joelle Desrosiers nailed down a career-high 17 kills to hit .586 to go with two aces and two blocks in leading the Panthers. Kyraleigh Zinnel tallied 24 digs, 17 assists and eight kills to post her 13th-career double-double (sixth of season). Kristin Grieshaber contributed 24 assists (season high), eight digs, seven kills and two block assists. Sofia Goris scooped a career-best 32 digs as Shanayia Lloyd served a team-leading three aces.

Cristina Morales and Briana Marrazzo went for 15 and 12 kills, respectively, as Makayla Beehler's 30 assists captained the offense. Valentina Urgo served a match-high six aces and Morales added two block assists and 20 digs to the victory.

SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE TRI-MATCH UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury hits the road Sunday (Oct. 7) for a Skyline Conference tri-match with the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons (3-6, 0-1 Skyline) at 11 a.m. followed by the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-3, 0-0 Skyline) at 1 p.m. from Campbell Sports Center in Bronxville, New York.
