OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball struggled collectively shooting the ball Tuesday evening to drop a 93-80 Skyline Conference decision at home to the Farmingdale State College Rams (5-2, 3-0 Skyline) inside Clark Athletic Center.  The Panthers (2-2, 1-1 Skyline) are now 2-3 at home against the Rams since the 2014-15 season.

Alan McDonald sank a three pointer 56 seconds in to give Old Westbury an early 3-1 lead.  The Rams answered with a 14-3 run as George Riefenstahl and Ali Mableton each scored four points during a 14-3 Ram spurt during a stretch of 5:12 to take a 15-6 advantage with 13:52 remaining in the half.  McDonald scored four of his 16 first-half points during a span of 1:17 to pull Old Westbury within three (17-14) at 9:48. The Panthers struggled shooting the ball at just a rate of 23.3 percent from the field while Farmingdale State led by as many as eight points before taking a 38-31 lead into intermission.

Old Westbury put together a 19-9 second-half run to regain a 50-49 lead with 13:24 left off a Pedro Marquez triple.  Playing with the lead for the final 12:32, the Rams scored eight-unanswered points to go up 57-50 at 11:22. With Old Westbury trailing 70-66, Farmingdale State rattled off 11-straight points to construct a 15-point lead (81-66) with 2:20 showing on the second-half clock.  The Rams built their lead to a game-high 16 points Chaz Platts three points with 32 seconds left.

McDonald dropped a career-high 29 points (9-of-17 FG, 2-of-4 3FG, 9-of-12 FT) to go with 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals to post his second double-double of the season (third career).  Marquez followed with 21 points (7-of-13, 4-of-6 3FG) and a career-best six assists in 40 minutes of action. Mike Snowden set a personal record in rebounds (10) and steals (3) while Justin Alleyne-Washington scored nine.

Ryan Kennedy's 22 points (4-of-8 3FG, 8-of-8 FT) and two steals paced Farmingdale State to victory.  Riefenstahl registered 16 points, 22 rebounds, three blocks and two steals as Mableton scored 19 (9-of-11 FG) followed by Matthew Graham's 15 (7-of-8 FT).

Old Westbury finished the evening shooting 33.3 percent (24-of-72) from the field, 33.3 percent (10-of-30) from three-point territory and 56.4 percent (22-of-39) from the free-throw line.  Farmingdale State connected on 42.9 percent (24-of-56) from the floor, 31.8 percent (7-of-22) from beyond the arc and 79.2 percent (38-of-48) from the charity stripe.
