Old Westbury remains on the road Tuesday (Feb. 13) for a Skyline Conference matchup versus Yeshiva University

PATCHOGUE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball dominated play in Saturday's 107-54 wire-to-wire Skyline Conference road win to sweep the season series from the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (8-14, 5-10 Skyline) in Patchogue, New York.  Old Westbury (19-3, 13-3 Skyline) has now won the last nine matchups versus the Golden Eagles dating back to the 2013-14 season.

Bridgid McNeill opened the scoring 20 seconds in before Old Westbury took a 10-3 lead with 6:16 left in the first quarter as all five starters contributed to the early spurt.  Charlotte Renker converted a three-point play 1:21 later to build Old Westbury's lead to double digits (13-3).  Playing with a double-double lead for the final 31:21, Old Westbury pushed its first-half margin to as many as 33 (52-19) with 1:14 remaining.  The Panthers took a 29-point advantage into intermission, 54-25.

St. Joseph's chipped away to pull within 26 points on two separate occasions in the opening 2:03 of second-half play.  Tori Bellings dropped in a layup followed by a free throw to make it a 67-36 game as Old Westbury maintained a 30-point cushion for the final 14:27. The lead grew to 40 within 48 seconds of fourth-quarter action and a jumper by Paige Jelinek with 28 seconds remaining increased Old Westbury's advantage to a game-high 53 points (107-54).  The Panthers outscored St. Joseph's by 17 points (26-9) in the final stanza to score 100-plus points for the fourth time this season.

Renker put forth her 13th double-double effort of the season (24th career) to finish with 18 points (8-of-15 FG) and 11 rebounds (seven offensive).  Monique Joseph followed with 17 points (8-of-15 FG), seven rebounds (six offensive) and five steals.  McNeill totaled 10 points and nine rebounds (six offensive) while Bellings added 13 points, four assists and two steals.  Davida Warren tied a career high with 14 points (7-of-9 FG) off the bench as Jelinek's 10 rebounds and two blocks tied her personal best performances.

Andrea Iavarone totaled game highs of 21 points (9-of-18 FG), 13 rebounds (seven offensive) and six blocks to pace the Golden Eagles.

In the end, Old Westbury hit on 52.2 percent (47-of-90) from the floor, 30.8 percent (4-of-13) from beyond the arc and 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the charity stripe.  By comparison, St. Joseph's connected on 29.2 percent (21-of-72) from the floor, 26.1 percent (6-of-23) from 3-point range and 37.5 percent (6-of-16) from the free-throw line.  Old Westbury held a +34 rebounding edge to win the boards battle, 69-35, while scoring 34 second-chance points off 30 offensive rebounds.  The Panthers also scored 23 points off 17 Golden Eagle miscues and held the advantage in assists (23-8), steals (9-7) and bench scoring (40-14).  Both teams finished even in blocks, 6-6.
