Old Westbury remains on the road Thursday (Mar. 29) against Drew University

GLENSIDE, PA --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse faced a 20-8 setback Tuesday evening to the Arcadia University Knights (5-2) in non-conference road action from Jean Lenox West Field & Delran Pavilion in Glenside, Pennsylvania.  With the loss, Old Westbury (1-4) is now 0-2 all time versus Arcadia.

The Knights scored three goals in a stretch of 54 seconds to take a 3-0 lead with 27:01 left in the first half.  The Panthers answered 3:25 later as Danielle Weir put Old Westbury on the board at 23:36 with her fifth goal of the season.  Shannon Ryan netted back-to-back goals to ignite Arcadia's 9-0 run that led to a 12-1 edge with four minutes remaining.  Victoria Mollitor produced the game-winning goal with 10:38 left to put Arcadia up 9-1.  Natasha Treuman then stopped the Arcadia spurt with her 12th goal of the season with 2:12 showing on the first-half clock.  Rachel Phillips finished a run from Weir to send a 12-3 game into intermission.  Weir's 41st-career helper advanced her to second among Old Westbury's all-time assist leaders.

Trailing 15-3, Halle Johnson broke Old Westbury's second-half scoring ice with her 60th-career goal with 23:44 remaining.  Treuman beat Arcadia goalie Molly Naylor (2-0) twice in the second stanza to net her 23rd-career hat trick.  Phillips scored with 6:17 left before Johnson rattled the back of the cage off a feed from Weir at 2:08 to settle the 20-8 final.

Ashley Gugliuzzo (1-4) turned away 13 shots in defeat for Old Westbury while Naylor made one save to secure Arcadia's win.

DREW UNIVERSITY RANGERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action Thursday (Mar. 29) afternoon against the Drew University Rangers (5-4) for a 4:30 p.m. opening draw from Ranger Stadium in Madison, New Jersey.  The Panthers seek their first win against Drew as they are 0-3 all time versus the Rangers.
