@OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse finishes six-game road trip at Drew

Old Westbury opens its home slate Saturday (Mar. 31) in a non-conference matchup against Ramapo College

MADISON, NJ --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse dropped a 19-0 non-conference road decision Thursday afternoon to the Drew University Rangers (6-4) from Ranger Stadium in Madison, New Jersey. Old Westbury (1-5), who suffered its first shutout since 2013, is now 0-5 all time against the Rangers.

Drew got off to a fast start by scoring four goals in the opening 10 minutes. Lauren Cassella broke the scoring ice 1:25 in for the game-winning goal. The Rangers limited Old Westbury to just one first-half shot as Rachel Phillips' attempt at 17:07 was stopped by Drew goalie Katiana Michalski (6-4). Jenna Morelli and Allie Didario both netted hat tricks in a first period that saw Drew lead 15-0 at intermission.

Old Westbury fired six shots in the second half led by Halle Johnson's two attempts.

Ashley Gugliuzzo (1-5) turned away nine shots in defeat for Old Westbury as Michalski finished with five saves to earn Drew's win.

RAMAPO COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury opens its home slate Saturday (Mar. 31) afternoon against the Ramapo College Roadrunners (3-3) for a 12 p.m. opening draw inside Panther Park. The Panthers are 1-4 all time versus Ramapo.
