NEWBURGH, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury softball dropped 9-1 and 11-1 Skyline Conference road decisions to the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (11-10, 10-0 Skyline) Saturday afternoon from MSMC Baseball/Softball Complex in Newburgh, New York.

Game 1 (6 Inn.): Mount Saint Mary 9, Old Westbury 1
Mount Saint Mary broke the scoring ice in the second inning off a throwing error by shortstop Jessica Livingston to give the Knights the early 1-0 lead.

Panther starter Nicole Baron (L, 3-3: 12 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 5 BB, 4 K) walked in Cindy Connoly for the game-winning run as part of Mount Saint Mary's four-run third inning.

Old Westbury's jumped on the board in the sixth inning with Lauren Bloom's third-career home run to make it a 5-1 game.

Mount Saint Mary tacked on four insurance runs in the bottom of the frame to settle the 9-1 run-rule victory.

Game 2 (5 Inn.): Mount Saint Mary 11, Old Westbury 1
Mount Saint Mary kicked off the scoring in the first inning off a fielding miscue by third baseman Samantha Arcese to take the 1-0 lead.

Lauren Oury tripled through the right side off Panther starter Amanda Fucci (L, 1-3; 2.0 IP, 8 H, 10 R, 6 ER, BB, K) and later scored the game-winning run off Bridget Bennett's single in the second inning. The Knights added four more runs in the inning to make it a 6-0.

The Knights drove in four more runs in the third inning to extend the lead to nine, 9-0.

Bloom's leadoff single in the fourth inning broke Knight starter Bennett (W, 4-5; H, R, ER, BB, 4 K) no-hit bid. Three batters later, Bloom scored on a wild pitch for Old Westbury's lone run.

Mount Saint Mary padded its lead with a run in the fourth inning to settle the 11-1 final.

COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury (7-7, 2-6 Skyline) travels to Dobbs Ferry, New York on Sunday (Apr. 15) for a Skyline Conference doubleheader against the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (9-11, 4-4 Skyline) at 12 p.m. from Smith Field.
