OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury softball claimed 14-0 and 8-0 non-conference home wins Wednesday afternoon over the York College Cardinals (1-16) from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex. Old Westbury (9-7) is now 9-0 versus York since 2013.

Game 1 (5 Inn.): Old Westbury 14, York 0
Old Westbury put the game out of reach with a six-run opening frame on York pitcher Dorianny Rojas (L, 6-0: 4 IP, 9 H, 14 R, 12 ER, 13 BB, 4 K). The Panthers scored their first-two runs on wild pitches that advanced Jessica Livingston (1-for-2, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB) and Lauren Bloom (1-for-1, RBI, R, 3 BB) home for the 2-0 lead. Samantha Arcese (1-for-2, 2 RBI) doubled in Amanda Fucci before scoring Rojas' balk. Kaite Skelly (2-for-2, 2 RBI, R, BB) then drove in Jessica Schwartz (1-for-2, 3 RBI, 2 BB) with a grounder to shortstop, and two batters later, Amanda Neenan (2-for-2, R) extended the lead to six with a run-scoring double to plate home Nicole Baron.

The Panthers pushed their lead to 11 by scoring five runs in the fourth on two runs and two errors.

Livingston, Bloom and Schwartz all stroked run-scoring hits in the fourth to settle the 14-0 run-rule victory.

In the circle, Bloom (W, 4-1) allowed a second inning double, and retired nine-straight batters before allowing a fifth inning single. Bloom scattered just two hits and fanned four batters with without issuing a walk in five innings to secure her second-career shutout.

Game 2 (5 Inn.): Old Westbury 8, York 0
Livingston (3-for-3, 3 R singled to lead off the first on York starter Giovanna Rosado (L, 1-7: 4 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 3 BB). She then advanced on a wild pitch, stole third and scored on a wild pitch to give Old Westbury a 1-0 lead. Three batters later, Arcese (2-for-2, 2 RBI) doubled Old Westbury's advantage with a RBI single to score Bloom.

Old Westbury went up by five in the second with a trio of run-scoring doubles by Livingston, Bloom and Fucci. Arcese followed with a RBI single for Old Westbury's fourth-straight run-scoring hit to make it a 6-0 lead.

Fucci (2-for-3, 2 RBI, R) laced a run-scoring single through the left side in the third inning to score Livingston.

Following a Schwartz pop up, Baron (1-for-1, R, 2 BB) advanced two bases to score to settle the 8-0 final.

Baron (W, 4-3) fanned eight batters and scattered four hits (zero walks) in five innings to earn Old Westbury's shutout.

COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels Saturday (Apr. 21) afternoon for a 12 p.m. Skyline Conference doubleheader against the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins from Westchester Community College's West Field in Valhalla, New York. The Panthers have lost their last eight games to Mount Saint Vincent dating back to 2014.
