@OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse closes out home schedule against St. Joseph’s (L.I.)

Old Westbury travels Saturday (Apr. 28) for the season finale against Farmingdale State College

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- 
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse closed out their home schedule Tuesday with a 16-0 Skyline Conference setback to the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (6-7, 4-2 Skyline) from Panther Park.  With the loss, Old Westbury (4-10, 3-3 Skyline) misses out on postseason play for the first time since 2015.

St. Joseph's broke the scoring ice 1:19 in as Taylor Ferrito beat Ashley Gugliuzzo (4-10) for the early lead.  Kristin Carroll scored four-straight goals in a span 1:43 to put the Golden Eagles up by nine. St. Joseph's scored twice in the final 4:12 to lead 11-0 at intermission.

Lauryn Gregson scored three unanswered goals in the final 11:17 to settle the 16-0 final.

Gugliuzzo (4-10) turned away 16 shots and scooped up three ground balls in defeat for Old Westbury.  Cameron Isnardi controlled seven draws to go with two caused turnovers and two ground balls. LaChaye Allen and Natasha Treuman both caused three turnovers.  Treuman and Yaritza Caraballo each picked up three ground balls.

Carroll finished with six goals and two assists while Gregson went for four goals and two assists in leading St. Joseph's to victory.  Lindsay Ramos (6-7) made six saves to secure the win.

FARMINGDALE STATE COLLEGE RAMS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out the season Saturday (Apr. 28) on the road with a Skyline Conference showdown against the Farmingdale State College Rams (5-8, 4-1 Skyline) at 12 p.m. from Rams Field in Farmingdale, New York.  The Panthers are 0-5 all time versus Farmingdale State.
