OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury softball collected 12-5 and 6-1 Skyline Conference home wins Sunday afternoon over the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (6-14, 1-7 Skyline) from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex. Old Westbury (7-5, 2-4 Skyline) is now 6-4 versus St. Joseph's since 2010.

Game 1: Old Westbury 12, St. Joseph's 5
St. Joseph's went up 2-0 on Panther starter Nicole Baron (W, 3-2: 7 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) with a run-scoring single and a RBI double in the first inning.

Old Westbury answered with four hits in the opening frame as Lauren Bloom's (3-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 R) RBI double and a run-scoring single by Amelia Cariddi (2-for-5, R) off Bear starter Theresa Armano (ND, 3 IP, 10 H, 4 R, BB) tied the game.

Trailing 4-2, Old Westbury put together another four-hit frame in the thing inning highlighted by Lauren London's two-run single to tie the game.

The Panthers used a two-out rally in the fourth to take a 6-4 lead on reliever Victoria Mahoney (L, 3-6; 3 IP, 13 H, 8 R, 3 ER, K). Jessica Livingston (3-for-5, 3 RBI, 2 R) doubled to drive home Amanda Fucci (4-for-4, RBI, 3 R) before scoring the game-winning run two batters later on a single by Amanda Neenan.

Old Westbury put the game away in the sixth by scoring six runs on six hits and three errors to take a 12-5 lead.

The Panthers finished with a season-best 23-hit attack as all nine starters had at least two hits.

Game 2: Old Westbury 6, St. Joseph's 1
St. Joseph's jumped ahead in the first inning with an unearned run on Panther starter Bloom (W, 3-1: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, K) as a costly throwing error by third baseman Samantha Arcese allowed Mahoney to break the scoring ice.

Old Westbury evened the game in the second as Bear starter Madison Erhardt (L, 3-5: 6 IP, 13 H, 6 R, 4 BB, 4 K) hit Baron with the pitch to advance Fucci home.

With runners at first and second, Arcese advanced to third on a fielder's choice and scored off a throwing error by third baseman Nicole Quintana for the game-winning run in the sixth inning. Two batters later, Otilia Bernal's (2-for-4, R) RBI single scored Brianna Huillca for Old Westbury's 3-1 lead. Baron (2-for-2, 4 RBI, 2 BB) broke the game open with a two-out triple that scored three to settle the 6-1 final.

YORK COLLEGE (NY) CARDINALS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains on campus Monday (Apr. 9) for a non-conference doubleheader against the York College (NY) Cardinals at 3 p.m. from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex. Old Westbury is 7-0 versus York since 2013.
