@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer tangles with Farmingdale State on the road

Old Westbury returns home Thursday (Oct. 4) for a Skyline Conference showdown against St. Joseph’s College (L.I.)

FARMINGDALE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer suffered an 8-0 Skyline Conference road setback Saturday afternoon to the Farmingdale State College Rams (6-2-1, 1-0-0 Skyline) in Farmingdale, New York.  The loss moves Old Westbury (3-8-0, 1-2-0 Skyline) to 0-5-0 on the road against the Rams dating back to 2010.

Panther goalie Alexa Higgins (3-8-0) conceived the game-winning goal 1:48 in with a tally by Alexandra Johnson off a Erin Purack feed for the Rams' 1-0 lead.  Farmingdale State took a 4-0 lead into intermission with goals by Kayla Duvenhorst in the 29th and 45th minutes.  

The Rams tacked on four second-half goals capped by an own goal in the 77th minute to settle the 8-0 final.  

Higgins totaled 13 saves as Daniella Ford (6-2-1) and Hayley Brigham combined for Farmingdale State's cleansheet.

Farmingdale State finished with the advantage in shots (41-0), shots on goal (21-0) and corner kicks (11-0).  

ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE (L.I.) GOLDEN EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home Thursday (Oct. 4) at 4 p.m. for a Skyline Conference showdown against the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (2-4-0, 1-0-0 Skyline).  The Panthers have lost four-straight games to St. Joseph's since picking up a 2-1 win at home in 2014.
