NEWARK, NJ --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer dropped an 8-0 final Wednesday evening to the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders (1-1-1) in non-conference action from Alumni Field in Newark, New Jersey.  Old Westbury (0-2-0) has now lost four-straight games to Rutgers-Newark, moving the series to 3-6 since 2008 versus the Scarlet Raiders.

Rutgers-Newark took the lead 2:13 in as Ana Silveira finished a feed from Shayna Bohus to bear Panther goalie Alexa Higgins (0-2-0).  Moments later, Bohus scored after settling Heather Kosinski's through ball at 9:33 to double the Scarlet Raiders' advantage.  Bohus found Juliana Ceballos in the 22nd minute for the 3-0 lead before Deirdre Mackin settled the first-half scoring by converting on penalty kick in the 27th minute.  Higgins stopped 11 of the 22 first-half shots she faced.

Iasia Goeloe broke the second-half scoring ice in the 59th minute to build the lead to five before Ceballos, Melanie Egas and Jessica Morena closed out the scoring.

Old Westbury was held without a shot for the third time in 19 games as Rutgers-Newark dominated play in shots (35-0), shots on goal (22-0) and corner kicks (10-1).
