OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer scored early to fuel a 4-0 home-opening victory Saturday afternoon over the Bryn Athyn College Lions (0-3-0) in non-conference action from Panther Park. The win helped Old Westbury (1-3-0) improve to 4-1-1 in home openers since 2013.

Peter Young broke the scoring ice with Old Westbury's first goal of the season three minutes in off Alexander Routledge's through ball. Old Westbury doubled its advantage 2:25 later as Edens Avril finished Ronald Monge's feed for the two-goal lead. Monge then dished out his second assist of the game at 6:45 for Young's one-touch goal. Young registered a hat trick in the 36th minute as a header off Matthew Strout's corner kick sent a 4-0 game into intermission.

Panther goalie Mike Warren (1-3-0) faced three shots in the first half while James Perciballi played the final 45 minutes in net to preserve the shutout. Warren cleansheet is his 10th-career. Jacob Elder (0-2-0) saved two shots in defeat for the Lions

Old Westbury outplayed the Lions in shots (21-4), shots on goal (6-0) and corner kicks (5-3).

MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGE COUGARS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels next Saturday (Sept. 15) at 5 p.m. to Aviator Field in Brooklyn for a non-conference tilt against the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-2-0).
