OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball collected a 76-69 wire-to-wire Skyline Conference home win Thursday evening from the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (8-4, 5-2 Skyline) inside Clark Athletic Center.  With the season split, the Panthers (7-6, 4-3 Skyline) are now 4-2 at home against the Knights dating back to the 2012-13 season.

The Panthers jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead as Chase Johnson and Justin Alleyne-Washington hit on back-to-back three pointers 1:31 in.  Mount Saint Mary then scored nine of the game's next 13 points to pull within three (12-9) with 12:21 remaining in the half.  The Knights tied the game twice during a span of 21 seconds before Old Westbury went on a 20-6 scoring spree to grab a 36-22 advantage with 1:34 remaining in the period.  After Mount Saint Mary cut its deficit to nine (36-27), Pedro Marquez stuck a jumper as time expired to send the Panthers into intermission with a 38-27 lead.

Playing with a double-digit lead for the opening 18:12 of the second half, Old Westbury went up by as many as 20 (66-46) at the 8:19 mark off Jaison Robinson's layup.  The Knights responded over the next 7:54 with a 22-8 spurt to slice Old Westbury's lead to six (74-68).  Marquez and Alleyne-Washington each hit on a pair of free throws in the final-13 seconds to secure Old Westbury's seven-point win.

Marquez led all scorers with a game-high 18 points (4-of-7 FG, 3-of-6 3FG, 7-of-9 FT).  Alleyne-Washington followed with 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds to post his fifth double-double of the season.  Johnson tied a career high with 10 points (4-of-8 FG).

Kendall Francis' 17 points paced Mount Saint Mary.  Paul Sienke and Jameson Morton both chipped in with 14 points.  Morton also nabbed four steals as Tristan Millett dished out six assists.

Old Westbury finished the evening shooting 43.1 percent (28-of-65) from the field, 25 percent (8-of-32) from three-point territory and 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from the free-throw line.  Mount Saint Mary connected on 39.6 percent (21-of-53) from the floor, 21.7 percent (5-of-23) from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent (22-of-33) from the charity stripe.  Old Westbury won the boards battle, 42-38, and scored 15-second-chance points off 17 offensive rebounds.  The Panthers converted 20 Mount Saint Mary miscues into 13 points while holding the advantage in assists (16-13), blocks (3-1) and fastbreak points (20-19).  The Knights outplayed Old Westbury in steals (9-5), points in the paint (32-30) and bench scoring (22-18).
