OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball erased a 10-point late in the second half Saturday afternoon to capture an 80-76 come-from-behind Skyline Conference home win from the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (5-10, 4-7 Skyline) inside Clark Athletic Center.  The Panthers (8-6, 6-3 Skyline) climb their record to 6-1 against St. Joseph's since the 2015-16 campaign.

Kavan Meiner helped St. Joseph's build a 5-0 lead with back-to-back layups 57 second in.  Andrew Buskey and Chase Johnson each scored six points as Old Westbury strung together a 19-7 run over the course of 7:18 to go up by seven (22-15).  The Bears answered with a 9-0 run to take a brief 24-22 lead before Buskey's triple ignited a 7-0 spurt to put the Panthers back up by five (29-24). St. Joseph's regained a two-point lead (31-29) by scoring seven-straight points.  Buskey replied with three of his 12 first-half points at the 1:01 mark to send Old Westbury into the break with a 32-31 advantage.

Down by five (41-36) with 15:31 showing on the second-half clock, St. Joseph's rattled off an 18-3 scoring spree during a stretch of 6:29 to construct a 55-44 lead.  Buskey would later connect from deep to spark a key 24-9 run that saw Old Westbury grab a 70-65 lead with 1:07 remaining. Both teams combined to score 21 points in the final 48 seconds as Pedro Marquez sank the game-winning free throw with 12 seconds left to make it a 77-74 game.

Buskey nailed five of Old Westbury's season-best 11 three-pointers to cement a career-high 24 points (9-of-14 FG) while nabbing a personal-best four steals.  Marquez totaled 11 of his 16 points in the second half and finished with career highs of nine assists and four steals. Justin Alleyne-Washington collected 16 points (5-of-6 FT), nine rebounds and three steals while Alan McDonald added 13 points (8-of-11 FT) and 13 rebounds off the bench to post his fourth double-double of the season.  Johnson also contributed nine points (2-of-5 3FG) to the win.

Frank Reali paced St. Joseph's with 20 points (5-of-7 3FG).  Bryan Medy scored 14 off the bench while Meiner posted 13 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.  Dimitri Sirakis netted 10 points and Sebastien Etheart pulled down 11 rebounds.

Old Westbury shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) from the field, 37.9 percent (11-of-29) from beyond the arc and 80.8 percent (21-of-26) from the free-throw line.  St. Joseph's connected on 46.8 percent (29-of-62) from the floor, 33.3 percent (9-of-27) from three-point territory and 64.3 percent (9-of-14) from the charity stripe.  The Bears held the advantage in rebounds (42-35) as Old Westbury scored 12 second-chance points off 11 offensive rebounds. The Panthers converted 26 Bear turnovers into 22 points and outplayed St. Joseph's in steals (15-8) and fastbreak points (25-11).  St. Joseph's owned the advantage in blocks (3-2), bench points (18-13) and points in the paint (36-20).
