Women’s Volleyball battles Manhattanville

Old Westbury travels Thursday (Oct. 3) for a Skyline Conference showdown against St. Joseph’s College (L.I.)

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball fell in three sets (15-25, 17-25, 7-25) to the Manhattanville College Valiants (12-4, 3-0 Skyline) Tuesday evening in Skyline Conference home action inside Clark Athletic Center.

Manhattanville hit .356 with 36 kills on 73 attempts compared to Old Westbury's (5-4, 1-2 Skyline) -.027 attacking percentage with 13 kills on 75 attempts.  The Valiants held the advantage in kills (36-13), aces (13-5), blocks (2-1), assists (35-9) and digs (42-25).

Joelle Desrosiers finished with six digs and five kills to lead Old Westbury.  Daesha Garrison followed with three kills, three digs and a block solo while Kyraleigh Zinnel contributed a match-high four aces to go along with four assists and four digs. 

Alejandra Figueroa finished with a match-high 10 kills to go with seven digs and three aces to pace Manhattanville.  Vianca Vital chipped in with a match-best 27 assists and 13 digs while Austen Brauer nailed down nine kills to help secure the victory.
