Women’s Volleyball tangles with St. Joseph’s (L.I.)

Old Westbury returns to action next Monday (Oct. 7) for a Skyline Conference showdown against St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn)

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball dropped a 3-0 (14-25, 15-25, 19-25) Skyline Conference battle on the road Thursday evening to the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (5-9, 3-0 Skyline) inside Danzi Center in Patchogue, New York.
 
Old Westbury (5-5, 1-3 Skyline) hit .032 in the opening set before finishing the match at a .100 clip.  St. Joseph's fired away at a rate of .250 to hold the advantage in kills (42-22), aces (10-2), blocks (4-1), assists (37-19) and digs (42-32).
 
Joelle Desrosiers finished with nine kills and eight digs to lead Old Westbury.  Kyraleigh Zinnel directed the Panther offense with 12 assists and two aces while Hillary Bennett scooped up a match-high 10 digs to pace Old Westbury's defense.
 
Amanda Goldstein led the way with a match-best 12 kills and three aces to pace St. Joseph's while Brionna Silva dished out a match-high 33 assists.

Old Westbury returns to action next Monday (Oct. 7) for Skyline Conference showdown against the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears at 7:30 p.m. from Walter A. Lynch Sports Center in Farmingdale, New York.
