Men’s Soccer closes out non-conference slate against Wesley

Old Westbury returns to action Tuesday (Oct. 15) with a Skyline Conference road battle versus College of Mount Saint Vincent

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer dropped a 3-1 non-conference home decision to the Wesley College Wolverines (7-4-1) Saturday afternoon from Panther Park.  The loss moves Old Westbury to a 4-8-1 mark on the season.

Justin John-Langba faced an open goal after beating Panther goalie James Perciballi (4-8-1) for the game-winning goal in the 12th minute.  Wesley doubled its advantage 3:08 later courtesy of Luiz Cruz, who rebounded Kaiden Field's shot in the box, to claim the 2-0 lead.  Cruz then put away his second goal of the game at the 25:17 mark as he headed home Field's corner kick and sent a 3-0 game into intermission.

A costly foul in the box by Wolverine goalie Jason Sommer (4-3-1) earned Old Westbury a penatly kick shot.  The Panthers cracked the scoring column as Brian Lopez converted his first-career penalty kick goal in the 54th minute to settle the 3-1 final.

Perciballi made a career-best seven saves in defeat for Old Westbury as Sommer sent away two shots to secure Wesley's win.

At the end of 90 minutes, Wesley finished with the advantage in shots (14-7), shots on target (10-3) and corner kicks (11-3).
