Locurcio leads Men’s Soccer in Skyline duel at Mount Saint Vincent

Old Westbury remains on the road Saturday (Oct. 19) for a Skyline Conference battle against Farmingdale State College

RIVERDALE, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer dropped a 3-1 Skyline Conference road decision Tuesday afternoon to the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (2-10-1, 1-5-1 Skyline) from Athletic Field at Marillac in Riverdale, New York.

Mount Saint Vincent broke the scoring 7:35 in as Matthew Babcock connected with Derrick Cordova for the early 1-0 lead.  The Dolphins doubled its advantage in the 31st minute courtesy of Mauricio Ricalde burying Cordova's assist for the game-winning goal.  3:05 later, Stephen Locurcio received a feed from Grixon Moreira to put away his third-career goal past Dolphin goalie Pedelis Astrinidis (2-7-1) and send the 2-1 game into the break.  Despite trailing, Old Westbury held an 11-9 shot advantage over Mount Saint Vincent.

Mount Saint Vincent found success again in the 80th minute as Cordova sent a ball to Sory Konate to register his second assist of the day and settle the 3-1 final.  Locurcio pressured Astrinidis with back-to-back on-target shots at the 85:48 and 86:31 marks, respectively.

Panther goalie James Perciballi (4-9-1) made two saves in defeat while Astrinidis sent away nine shots to secure the victory for Mount Saint Vincent.

At the end of 90 minutes, Old Westbury finished with the advantage in shots (19-13), shots on goal (10-5) and corner kicks (4-3).
