Women’s Soccer tangles with Farmingdale State

Old Westbury travels to Maritime College Tuesday (Oct. 22) for a Skyline Conference showdown

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer suffered a 2-0 Skyline Conference home setback Saturday afternoon to the Farmingdale State College Rams (8-5-2, 5-0-0 Skyline) from Panther Park.  The loss moves Old Westbury to 8-8-0 on the season and 2-5-0 in conference play.  

Old Westbury recorded its lone shot of the game 2:04 in as Britney Graham's attempt was turned away by Ram goalie Danielle Ford (6-5-2).  Kristen Shine slipped in Gianna DeCarlo's corner kick in the 39th minute past Panther netminder Yakeline Umanzor (7-5-0) for the game-winning goal.  Farmingdale State doubled its advantage in the 81st minute courtesy of Shine connecting with Nicole Forero to beat Umanzor and settle the 2-0 final. 

Umanzor stopped six shots while Ford made one save to secure the cleansheet.

In the end, Farmingdale State held the edge in shots (21-1), shots on goal (8-1) and corner kicks (11-1). 

UP NEXT:
Old Westbury will close out its road schedule Tuesday (Oct. 22) with a Skyline Conference showdown against the Maritime College Privateers at 7 p.m. from Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck, New York.
