Dorvil’s hat trick propels Women’s Soccer past Mitchell

Old Westbury returns to action Saturday (Oct. 12) with a Skyline Conference battle against College of Mount Saint Vincent

NEW LONDON, Conn. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer captured a 4-2 road win against the Mitchell College Mariners (3-7-0) to close out its non-conference slate Wednesday afternoon from Alumni Field in New London, Connecticut.  Old Westbury (7-6-0) has now defeated Mitchell for the third-straight year.

Tania Bonilla connected with Britney Graham to slip one past Mariner goalie Lindsey Robinson (0-2-0) in the 34th minute for Old Westbury's early 1-0 advantage.  The Panthers doubled its advantage 50 seconds later as Bernadelle Dorvil put away Bonilla's feed to take the 2-0 lead.  Dorvil then buried her second-career game-winning goal at the 44:16 mark to send the 3-0 game into the break.

Dorvil registered her first-career hat trick in the 63rd minute putting the finishing touches on Cara Normile's feed for Old Westbury's four-goal cushion.  The Mariners broke into the scoring column with back-to-back goals courtesy of Lindsey Fairbank at the 82:10 and 87:00 marks to settle the 4-2 final.

Panther goalie Yakeline Umanzor (6-3-0) made four saves in 45 minutes in the net before Moira Nolan sent away four second-half shots.  Robinson stopped seven shots in defeat for Mitchell.
