Treuman leads @OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse against Mount Saint Vincent

Old Westbury closes out road slate next Tuesday (Apr. 23) with a Skyline Conference tilt against St. Joseph’s College (L.I.)

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse faced a 16-9 Skyline Conference Autism Awareness home setback against College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (7-5, 3-3 Skyline) Wednesday afternoon from Panther Park.  The Panthers (3-10, 2-3 Skyline) is now 4-3 all-time against the Dolphins.

Emma Dell'Aquila broke the scoring ice 1:26 in to give Mount Saint Vincent the early lead.  Natasha Treuman replied with back-to-back goals during a stretch of 2:48 for Old Westbury to take the 2-1 lead.   Mount Saint Vincent slipped two goals (10:39, 9:45) past goalie Hope Matthews (0-1) to regain the 3-2 advantage.  With 34 seconds showing on the first-half clock, Alessia Drevnyak ripped one past Dolphin goalie Allyson Weakliem (7-5) to send a 3-all game into intermission.

The Dolphins opened the second-half scoring with an 8-2 spurt as Dell'Aquila's tally with 19:49 remaining proved to be the game winner for the 10-5 lead.  Old Westbury scored the next two goals, highlighted by Charlotte Renker netting home her first-career goal on a free-position woman-down score with 15:44 remaining.  Mount Saint Vincent scored four-straight goals from 14:10 to 11:48 before Treuman put away her fifth goal of the game at 8:46 to become the program's first-ever 200-goal scorer in her 61st-career game.  Yaritza Caraballo rattled the cage with her 12th goal of the season over the final 1:56 to settle the 16-9 final.

Matthews made seven saves in defeat for Old Westbury while Tori Bellings stopped two shots in 22:14 of action.  Weakliem sent away 11 shots to secure Mount Saint Vincent's win.

The Dolphins held the advantage in shots (30-26), shots on goal (25-20), ground balls (17-15) while the Panthers held the edge in draw controls (16-11).  Both teams held even in caused turnovers with four apiece.

In addition to scoring five goals to post her 35th-career hat trick, Treuman finished seven draw controls and three ground balls.  Drevnyak followed with two goals.  Monique Joseph controlled five draws while Caraballo scooped up four ground balls in addition to scoring a goal.

Dell'Aquila led the way with six goals to pace Mount Saint Vincent.  Paulina Mandujano chipped in with three goals and Caitlin Elia contributed with three goals and controlled a game-high eight draws.

GOLDEN EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out its road portion of the schedule next Tuesday (Apr. 23) in a Skyline Conference showdown against the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles (6-5, 4-2 Skyline) at 5 p.m. from St. Joseph's Outdoor Athletic Complex in Patchogue, New York.  The Panthers enter Tuesday's matchup winless against the Golden Eagles.
