OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury baseball continued its nine-game homestand Saturday afternoon by claiming 10-1 and 3-0 wins against the Maritime College Privateers (15-10, 6-2 Skyline) in Skyline Conference action from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex to give head coach Rod Stephan his 200th-career win. Stephan has a 201-140-3 career record in nine seasons and captured the program's first-ever Skyline Conference Championship in 2015. The Panthers (11-10-1, 7-3 Skyline) are now 20-9 against the Privateers dating back to the 2006 season.

Game 1: Old Westbury 10, Maritime 1
Old Westbury struck first with a five-run first inning on starter Ryan Ragone (L, 1-1: 4 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K). Mike Manetta (3-for-5, 3 R, 2B, 3B) slapped a leadoff triple to right center before advancing home off of John Condon's (3-for-4, R, RBI) single for the game's initial run. Shaun Kaminski then clubbed a two-run double that plated home Brandon Wilson (3-for-4, 3 R, HR ,4 RBI, BB) for what proved to be the game-winning score. Two batters later, Kaminski took advantage of a miscue by shortstop Shan Sullivan to round home the fifth tally of the game.

The Panthers added two runs in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead.

Maritime broke into the scoring column with a single run in the fourth inning off starter Patrick Quinn (W, 2-2: 7 IP, 3 H, R, 5 BB, 4 K) with a Adam Mosca sacrifice fly to score Phil Russo (1-for-4, R).

With two outs and runners at the corners in the fifth frame, Wilson crushed his first-career home run down the left field line off reliever J.P. Silvestri (4 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 K) to score Shaun Paprocki and Manetta to settle the 10-1 final.

Panther reliever Matt Bohenek fired three strikeouts (two walks) in two innings of relief.

Game 2: Old Westbury 3, Maritime 0
After three scoreless innings, the Panthers broke the scoring ice in the fourth on starter Niko Concha (L, 3-1: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, ER, 3 BB, K) as Nic Labiento (1-for-2, 2 RBI) singled to left center to score Kaminski for the game winning run.

Old Westbury tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth innings off of sacrifice hits by Peter Capel and Labiento to advance home Manetta and Drew Robertson, respectively, and settle the 3-0 final.

Maritime tested Panther starter Christian Tessitore (W, 3-2: 7 IP, 6 H, 3 BB) with its final attempt to keep the seventh inning alive. With two outs and the bases loaded off of back-to-back singles by Ryan Rockhill and Matt Eng followed by Travis Zurita earning a walk, Tessitore fired his fourth strikeout of the game en route to earning his first-career complete game shutout.

PURCHASE COLLEGE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury continues its nine-game homestand Sunday (Apr. 7) with a Skyline Conference doubleheader against the Purchase College Panthers (12-8, 3-3 Skyline) at 12 p.m. from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex, to conclude NCAA Division III Week. Old Westbury enter Sunday's matchup with a 22-5 mark against Purchase dating back to the since 2006 campaign.
