OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball hosted a non-conference tri-match against the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-9) and York College Cardinals (3-5) Saturday inside Clark Athletic Center. The Panthers (3-2) opened with a 3-0 (25-4, 25-7, 25-15) win over the Cougars before completing the three-set sweep (25-21, 25-9, 25-17) of the Cardinals.

Old Westbury started the match hitting .333 before turning up the offensive intensity in the second set, landing 10 kills on 17 attempts to hit a match-best .412.  The Panthers finished the match hitting .308 compared to Medgar Evers' -.267 output. The Panthers led the way in kills (24-4), aces (24-3), blocks (1-0) and assists (18-3) while the Cougars held the edge in digs (17-14).

Kristin Grieshaber served a career-high eight aces to go along with five digs and three kills to lead Old Westbury.  Daesha Garrison and Ally Parker followed with a match-best five kills apiece.  Kyraleigh Zinnel directed the Panther offense with 12 assists to go with five aces.

Sashamoni Burnett finished with three aces and two kills to pace Medgar Evers.  Britenie Marcelus and Noshka Gonzalez-Sanchez scooped up four digs.

Old Westbury posted a match-high .226 hitting percentage in the deciding set to attack at .172 for the York match. The Panthers limited York's hitting to .30 while holding the advantage in kills (31-18), aces (15-4), assists (29-14). York finished with a 34-30 dig edge.

Joelle Desrosiers finished with 11.5 points to hit a team-leading .533 with 10 kills and seven digs. Zinnel followed with team-high 14 points on nine aces, five kills and 15 assists. Grieshaber added six kills and nine digs. Parker dished out 12 assists while Hillary Bennett scooped up 11 digs.

Chrissy Hobson tallied 10 kills, seven digs, three blocks and two aces to pace York. Alexandra Taveras chipped in with 10 assists and seven digs.
