OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – SUNY Old Westbury athletics announced revisions to its spectator policy that will allow two spectators per student-athlete to attend baseball's Senior Day doubleheader on Sunday (May 2) against Mount Saint Mary College and softball's Senior Day one week later on Sunday (May 9) when they take on Purchase College. Student-athletes will be sent a Google document to indicate names of the two guests who will attend. Attendees must be submitted by Friday prior to the game by 5 p.m. Old Westbury athletics will honor the seniors on the baseball and softball teams during the intermission between games of their respective doubleheaders.
All guests of baseball's Senior Day and softball's Senior Day
must follow the guidelines below:
- If you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever or chills; sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath; headache, muscle or body aches, please refrain from attending the game
- Masks must be worn at all times covering both the mouth and nose
- Social distancing must be maintained at all times
- The two spectators per student-athlete (both home and away) must provide valid photo identification
- Student-athletes (both home and away) will be sent a Google document to indicate names of two guests to bring
- Names on the Google document must be submitted Friday prior to the game by 5 p.m.
- *Spectators will only be allowed entry 15 minutes prior to first pitch (11:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.)
- Guests will receive a bracelet at the designated check-in location
- No tailgating
- No food allowed
- Absolutely no interaction between fans, umpires, players and coaches before, during or after the games
- Stadium seating is limited, therefore the green stadium seats are reserved for players on the baseball and softball student-athletes only while bench seating is for spectators
- Press box area is off limits to student-athletes and spectators
- At the conclusion of the game, all spectators must exit the venue immediately
