Men's Basketball Tops SUNY Maritime

The Old Westbury men's basketball team defeated SUNY Maritime 84-78 on Thursday night, improving to 8-8 on the season.

Charles Wingate led the scoring for the Panthers with 21 points, shooting 8-13 overall and 3-7 from behind the arc. Zachary Cummings scored 20 points with eight assists, and scored three three-pointers of his own. Jonathan Jamieson and Carl Damour each contributed 13 points. Tonight was the second consecutive game in which the Panthers have made 10+ three-point baskets (Cummings, Damour, Wingate - 3, Jamieson - 2, Carter - 1).

Leading the scoring for the Privateers was Ryan Donovan with 24 points (9-17 FG). Maritime out-rebounded Old Westbury 32-25 and held a 34-24 scoring advantage in the paint. In a game that had 15 lead changes, the Panthers went 7-8 from the free-throw line in the last five minutes of the game to secure the win. Old Westbury shot 52.7% overall (48% 3PT), while Maritime shot 47.3% (30.4% 3PT).

Farmingdale, N.Y. - As of Monday, December 20th, there will be no fan permitted at any Farmingdale State College home athletic contests until further notice. 

The following guidelines for visiting teams remain in place.

Statement Regarding Visiting Teams - Winter 2021-22

1. All tier 1 personnel teams must be vaccinated or following Skyline testing protocols.

2. All tier 1 personnel must wear masks indoors at all times regardless of your vaccination status, other than when practicing or competing. This includes on the bench during games.

3. Visiting teams will be provided a locker room; however, use of the showers before/after games is not permitted.

4. Visiting teams are not permitted to eat in Nold Hall.
