The Old Westbury women's basketball team defeated Purchase College 53-41 Sunday evening, improving to 6-8 overall and 5-7 in Skyline play.
Melinda Harris led Old Westbury with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.
Ja'nya Flash scored a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Ashley Cattle contributed on both ends of the court with 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals.
Both teams were off to a slow start with the score 10-5 at the end of the first quarter in favor of Old Westbury. The Panthers then outscored Purchase 28-12 in the second quarter to lead 38-17 at halftime. Cattle scored 10 of her 12 points in the second quarter. Old Westbury outrebounded Purchase 52-40 and converted 12 turnovers into nine points of their own.

The following guidelines for visiting teams remain in place.
Statement Regarding Visiting Teams - Winter 2021-22
1. All tier 1 personnel teams must be vaccinated or following Skyline testing protocols.
2. All tier 1 personnel must wear masks indoors at all times regardless of your vaccination status, other than when practicing or competing. This includes on the bench during games.
3. Visiting teams will be provided a locker room; however, use of the showers before/after games is not permitted.
4. Visiting teams are not permitted to eat in Nold Hall.
