Panthers Score on Late Penalty to Earn Draw at USMMA

The Old Westbury women's soccer team tied a Skyline Conference match against USMMA 1-1 on Tuesday evening. The Panthers move to 3-4-1 overall, and 1-3-1 in the Skyline.

How it Happened
  • USMMA scored first in the 24th minute on a high shot just off the hands of goalkeeper Natalie Intrieri.
  • In the second half, Old Westbury outshot USMMA 13-5 and had four corner kicks.
  • In the 86th minute, Melanie Escobar drew a hard foul in the box to earn a penalty kick for the Panthers. Mia Almonte took the penalty kick for the Panthers and finished left side to tie the game 1-1.
