Women's Volleyball Sweeps York College

The Old Westbury women's volleyball team swept the York College Cardinals in a non-conference match on Thursday evening. Old Westbury improves to 4-5 overall.

How it Happened
  • Old Westbury got off to a strong start with an 11-0 run to open the first set. The teams then played a close match through the set, but the initial 11 point lead proved to be too much for the Cardinals to come back from.
  • In the second set, York held the lead at 9-8, but an eight point run helped Old Westbury later regain the lead to close out the set.
  • The Panthers continued to overpower the Cardinals in the third set with another eight point run to lead 8-1.
  • Old Westbury finished with the advantage in points (50-11), kills (36-7), aces (10-1) and assists (24-7). The team had their highest hitting percentage of the season at .244.
